My Ambition

Well, at this point of time, I’m not very sure about my ambition. However, I still have one in mind, even though I am not sure if that is really what I want to become.

Anyways, before I wanted to become ‘this’, I wanted to become a gynecologist. I actually got inspired from a television programme. I always thought that a gynecologist’s job was to only deliver babies, but I was wrong. A gynecologist is actually a medical doctor who specializes in gynecology and diseases affecting the female reproductive system. A gynecologist not only delivers babies but also cure diseases affecting the female reproductive system and I do not want to do this.

I, in fact, wanted to become a gynecologist because of babies as I really love babies. However, ever since my misconception has been cleared, the ambition has been slowly leaving me. Since, I have to write about and do research on one; I have decided to choose something that I would like to do.

There are also other reasons why I wanted to become a gynecologist, and one of them is that I have always wanted to be a doctor and still want to be. Another reason is also that I am a little money-minded and a doctor in Singapore earns quite well. Lastly, is of course because I love children.

Looking at these reasons, I can only think of one job and that is a
pediatrician. A pediatrician may advise parents on caring for their first baby, help develop a program of health maintenance for a seven-year-old with juvenile diabetes, or work with a teenager whose drug use is having negative effects on his or her health. This field requires a great deal of diplomacy and sensitivity, and also good communication skills. However, I want to specialize in diabetes. It is because; my family has a very strong history of diabetes.

To become a pediatrician, it is necessary to go into University. Below are the hyperlinks to the requirements for admission into the National University of Singapore.
